London Fashion Week Men’s: deconstructed leather at XIMONLEE AW17

10 Jan 2017

For Ximon Lee, the only way seems to be up. Since graduating from Parsons School of Design in New York back in 2014, the Chinese-born designer has gone on to win a variety of awards celebrating his menswear creations. At this season’s London’s Fashion Week Men’s, we saw Ximon’s line XIMONLEE display his “SHAME” AW17 collection for all to see.

Deconstructed leather allowed unique layering for non-conventional outerwear and knitted jumpers. The collection remained cool with a 70s vibe, as long, patent leather coats and flared pants became a common theme down the catwalk. Stand out pieces included sheer shirts, trousers overcrowded with pearls and velvet pants caught many eyes and created refreshing looks compared to what had been showcased throughout the day. XIMONLEE showed us that rustic reds, bottle greens (and half-naked models) make for a cracking AW17 collection.

The XIMONLEE presence at LC:M brings forward the success of and desire for international brands to be part of the fashion movement that continues in London.
