#SelfcareSundays: January Playlist

24 Jan 2016

Earlier this month I wrote about making realistic New Year’s resolutions. As we near the end of what feels like the longest month of the year, it’s vital we check in with ourselves. How are you doing? No, how are you actually doing? At the moment, my plan for * realistic * world domination means juggling multiple projects during a 15-hour day – so at the time of writing this, it’s no surprise I’m ill in bed. Oops.

Whether we’re frantically trying to finish job applications, dissertations, novels, scripts or final major projects without doing too many all-nighters; we need to make time for relaxation or at least have things to aid us. For me, music is my aid. I try to start all of my days with my favourite songs to psyche myself up if I know I’m going to have a long day.

I’ve made a four-hour Spotify playlist of soothing tunes to assist us in getting through life’s inevitable stresses. Artists include the likes of: Anderson .Paak, Stan Getz, Potatohead People, Stevie Wonder, Menahan Street Band, Eric Lau, Kelela, Fatima, Jordan Rakei, The Internet, Kindess, Dirg Gerner, Jamie Woon, Alfa Mist and, of course, Sade. Enjoy.
