Trans women of colour are constantly brought up as a statistical figure when discussing transphobic violence, but rarely provided the opportunity to be in charge of their own storytelling. gal-dem and oestrogeneration’s new series, A new legacy, looks to change that, by amplifying the voices of transfeminine writers of colour, showcasing different perspectives and shifting existing narratives.
The three stories in this series were commissioned by oestrogeneration in collaboration with gal-dem, and two of them were developed following a writers’ workshop led by both platforms.
