About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team in a pivotal role as Head of Brand Partnerships. You will be responsible for liaising with and managing relationships with clients as well as scoping out new relationships with both agencies and directly with brands. You will also be responsible for managing the sales process and planning campaign budgets and profit margins. The ideal candidate will be confident, personable and able to get stuck in.
We are looking for a person who has experience working across multi disciplinary campaigns, in digital, audio, social and experiential. You will have experience writing media plans and campaign proposals, as well as a thorough understanding of industry expectations and rates.
As a senior member of the commercial team, you must be able to spot campaigns and brands that align with gal-dem’s core values, and handle client relationships and pitches to ensure all commercial efforts remain true to gal-dem’s mission.
You will manage gal-dem’s partnerships manager, a part time account manager and any freelancers who we bring in to work on the execution of commercial partnerships and projects. You must therefore be good with people and have experience within a managerial position.
You will work closely with gal-dem’s Head of Editorial, Social Media Manager and CEO.
As an organisation committed to diversifying the media and creative industries, we are looking for a candidate who shares our values and ambitions. Candidates must be able to empathise with, represent, and authentically speak to gal-dem’s core audience through our campaigns.
gal-dem is an award-winning media company committed to sharing the perspectives of people of colour from marginalised genders. We have proven that our journalism and creative work can shape debates, shift discussions, create new ways of thinking and contribute to social movements.
gal-dem is celebrated for content which supports and gives voice to our varied communities – and brings joy to them too. Alongside this, as a platform our aim is to become widely known for original and ambitious investigative reporting and original analysis. Our focus is on the stories of marginalised communities and incorporates anything from social justice and institutional corruption to cultural touchpoints and wellbeing.

You must be eligible to work in the UK.
We believe that our role in media is to give a voice to the people of colour we serve as a platform and respect the diversity within this — including members of the LGBTQI+ community, people from working class backgrounds and disabled people. We strongly encourage applications from people with these identities.
We try to move quickly with recruitment at gal-dem, meaning successful candidates will be contacted within the week for an interview. If you do not hear back from us it is likely your application has been unsuccessful.
